Critical Software- Positioned on the Park for Growth

Critical Software Technologies was founded in 1998 with the establishment of Critical Software SA in Coimbra, Portugal. They now have an international drive and have reached BusinessWeek’s ‘Top 500 Growth Companies’ for several successive years. Their core business remains the provision of services related to safety and mission critical systems.

Critical Software Technologies Ltd was established to strengthen the approach to the UK, Northern European and North American markets. The UK company is active in all of these regions, focussing on software-intensive high-integrity systems in the aerospace, defence and transport sectors. In addition to its home market, the company has contracts in Germany, the Netherlands and the USA.

Analysing the company’s success is an exercise in complexity. At a fundamental level, Critical can point to three factors that are absolutely key:

• A dedication to quality: the Quality Management System is central to everything that the company does – quality is never regarded as an afterthought, or a necessity born of external regulation.
• Attracting, motivating, training and keeping the best possible staff available. Critical works hard at being a great place to work.
• Being tenacious about maintaining the company’s track record in on-time, on-budget delivery. Growth is achieved by combining strong repeat business with the attraction of new customers aware of Critical’s high profile reputation for success.
