Science Park-based iMeta has received Best Companies
2008 star status accreditation for its outstanding
workplace and investment in people. iMeta achieved 2
star status, (ranking Outstanding) and is only 8
points away from 3 stars (ranking Extraordinary)!
The elite national
accreditation scrutinises workplace engagement and
sets a benchmark for other companies. It follows a
‘Michelin star’ system, with companies awarded one
star for first class, two stars for outstanding and
three stars for extraordinary performance.
“We are very proud of
this achievement and are delighted to see that our
efforts to create a great workplace have been
recognised by our staff” says Ben Marsh, Managing
Director, iMeta Technologies, “having this kind of
feedback is invaluable and we will be striving to do
even better next year.”
The Best Companies
survey is designed to measure employee engagement
and uses a series of questions to gain a
comprehensive view of workplace engagement across
eight areas including Leadership, Well-Being, My
Company and Personal Growth. Organisational
successes are defined using data from the ‘2008 Best
Companies to Work For’ survey, which involved
surveying over 140,000 employees from 558 companies.
Overall, 307
organisations achieved accreditation this year:
• 48 organisations achieved Three Star Status
• 117 organisations achieved Two Star Status
• 142 organisations achieved One Star Status
“I would like to
congratulate these companies on their outstanding
achievement.” says Jonathan Austin, Chief Executive,
Best Companies. “Our role at Best Companies is to
set a rigorous benchmark so that organisations can
become even better employers. This year it is
encouraging to see that the number of companies
entering the accreditation scheme for excellence in
workplace engagement has grown by one third.”
