Progress on the
second stage of the access road to the Benham Campus
is well under way. The road, along with statutory
services and ducting, is due to be completed in
April. As part of the planning permission for this
development, a bund is being built to help screen
the motorway.
This is the next step
towards development of the new campus. Construction
of the first two buildings will begin in May, with
completion due in June 2009. The Science Park is in
negotiations for both buildings and expects pre-let
agreements to be in place soon.
Benham will be a
particularly pleasant working environment in a semi
rural context, surrounded by Forestry Commission
land and the Chilworth Conservation Area. Its
appearance will be in harmony with the rest of the
Science Park but Benham will have its own unique
character. There are currently parties interested in
all areas of the site.
