Following on from last year's investment in new
infrastructure on the Park, VOSTRON is now a major influence in the
development of the technology that currently drives many of the
tenants' IT services, including Southampton Science Park itself.
VOSTRON's private fibre
network ring serves each building on the park in addition to their
fully managed Data Centre which is nearing completion on the site.
The new Data Centre will provide 8,000 sq ft of available rackspace
initially with the option of a further 4,000 sq ft when the need
arises.
The Data Centre is fed by diversely routed power feeds from separate
sub-stations, protected by UPS and Dedicated Generator and can
deliver up to 4kW of power per rack-footprint. In addition, the
hosting floors are cooled by N+1 HVAC, protected with
Argon/Carbon/Nitrogen Fire Suppression (over head and under floor),
monitored by internal and external CCTV and connected to the
internet by diversely routed fibre optic all the way to London
Docklands. VOSTRON's fibre IP network is delivering sub 3ms round
trip times to the BBC and has Multiple Gigabit capacity.
Despite VOSTRON's obvious appeal to larger corporates with multiple
site WAN networks, they are committed to providing a comparable
service to all companies on Southampton Science Park. Integrating
all office suites with the latest network applications and services,
as well as IP Voice systems over a lightning-fast network, they
provide a fully managed service that new tenants can just 'Arrive
and Use'.
New Tenant Adam Kingdon of i2O says 'It's amazing, we just turned up
on our first day, plugged our computers into the cables positioned
at our desks, and we were able to work immediately. VOSTRON had not
only provided our internet connection, but cabled our office and
ensured our new telephone numbers were routed to our mobiles prior

printed and distributed without us having to worry about losing
