Southampton Science Park's reputation for
encouraging business success continues to attract growing interest.
Among the most recent visitors were Romsey MP Sandra Gidley and Chris
Huhne, Euro MP for the area. Accompanied by Dr Don Fox, Chief Executive
of the Park, the MPs toured the Science Park and saw for themselves how
companies based there are enjoying national and international success.
They found the newly opened Business Incubator particularly interesting
and visited some of the businesses inside, including ExoSect - an
environmentally positive pest control company.
They were shown new
technology that is continuously being researched and developed within
the Business Incubator, and heard about the many benefits that it
provides the surrounding area. The Business Incubator made an impression
particularly on Chris Huhne, as it was part funded by an E.U. grant.
Many tenants in the Business Incubator have plans to expand their
companies in Europe. Said Mr Huhne, "Southampton Science Park is full of
ideas with such enormous potential. Its continuing success will be
maintained and maximised through the development of the companies within
the park and through the continued support of the surrounding area."
