Liz is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the ICAEW with over 15 years’ experience of auditing and advising clients across many industry sectors and of varying size, from small start-ups to large plcs. In her current role as Accounts Manager at ABDS she helps clients make sense of finance and accounting systems, internal controls, financial reporting and tax.

Liz started her career in Birmingham working with many traditional manufacturing businesses before becoming audit and assurance partner at Deloitte in Southampton. During her career she has looked after a portfolio of hi tech businesses, pharmaceutical companies, service organisations and IT businesses and worked with many fast growing companies through all stages of their journey from start-up to UK and US listings.

For Catalyst, Liz leads a workshop on accounting and financial procedures, tax planning and compliance issues. She says: “In many ways, our role is the ‘boring bit’ for companies operating in the exciting STEM environment, but they soon see that it’s extremely important for future success. I advise starting as you mean to go on if you want your business to be taken seriously as an investment opportunity.”
