How we work

We are committed to fuelling innovation and helping to ensure that British science and technology has a presence on the world stage.

Our leadership team has decades of experience and a deep understanding of the complex needs of science and technology businesses at all stages of development from start-up to multinational. We understand the importance of flexibility, a joined-up approach to commercialising research, connecting businesses with mentors, advisors and investors, and of sharing best practice with peers to drive further breakthroughs.

Our deeply engrained relationships with the University of Southampton, the SETsquared Partnership and the UK Science Park Association enable us to fulfil these roles for the benefit of our business community.

We also support new and early stage technology businesses with our self-funded Catalyst business accelerator programme, designed to give promising new enterprises the best possible chance of success.

Academic excellence

Southampton Science Park is owned by the research-intensive University of Southampton. A founding member of the prestigious Russell Group – an essential marker of quality education – it is one of the UK’s most research-oriented universities and is internationally acclaimed in the global top 1%.

There are close links between the University and its Science Park. First-class graduate and internship schemes not only enrich the next generations’ learning experiences and opportunities, but also encourage the flow of new ideas into the commercial world, driving future innovation, productivity and competitiveness.

Many University spin-outs have based themselves here and our business community has opportunities to tap into its research expertise and specialist facilities.
