Welcome Smith Displays

Southampton Science Park is pleased to welcome the Smith Displays team to its innovation community.

Smith Displays is a spin-out from the Optoelectronics Research Centre at the University of Southampton. This innovative start-up company has developed a new approach to the design and manufacture of Augmented Reality displays for use in wearable AI smart glasses and has set up a new office and demo space in the Science Park.

Founder and CEO, Professor Peter Smith, commented, “It’s a pleasure to move our team into the Science Park at an exciting time for our business. Though our time with Chipstart UK and FutureWorlds, we know that being surrounded by like-minded entrepreneurs and their wider networks will be of benefit as we work on commercialising our research and approach to market.”

Approximately 10% of companies located at Southampton Science Park are spin-outs from the University of Southampton. These companies operate across diverse technology sectors and include Absolar, Accelercomm, Audioscenic, Birthglide, Covesion, Data Revival, Droplet Scientific, Dynamon, Labl.It, Lifelight, Nuonano, OhmSpace, and Renovos.

Smith Displays chose to locate to the Science Park Innovation Centre which provides premium quality office space to multiple innovative companies close to the entrance to the Park in Chilworth.
