Welcome Mackley

Southampton Science Park is pleased to welcome specialist civil engineering company Mackley to Kenneth Dibben House.

Founded in 1927 by John Thomas Mackley, a Royal Engineer Staff Officer who served in France and Salonika during World War I, the company is now a leader in delivering technically challenging infrastructure projects across the UK.

Mackley specialises in coastal, fluvial, marine, port and harbour and water industry works undertaking complex, major projects in these ever-changing and demanding environments. Mackley’s approach is underpinned by collaboration, sustainability and innovation aimed at smarter design and improved outcomes for all stakeholders.

On their decision to move their Hampshire office to Southampton Science Park, Mackley Managing Director Ben Hamer said, “We are delighted to be joining the Southampton Science Park community. As Mackley continues to evolve, the Park provides an environment that aligns with our ambitions for innovation, collaboration and sustainable growth. Kennth Dibben House has become a major hub of entrepreneurialism at the Science Park, providing excellent facilities and follow-on space for companies in their post-start-up phase. It was reimagined in 2024 to incorporate new meeting and collaboration spaces, fresh toilet, shower and kitchen facilities with high level and hub eating areas, as well as an open entrance offering a warm welcome to staff and visitors.
