School of Healthcare Enterprise and Innovation (HEI) | USSP

School of Healthcare Enterprise and Innovation (HEI) exists to make a difference to society through research and the way it is prioritised, funded, managed, disseminated and used.

The School of Healthcare Enterprise and Innovation was established within the Faculty of Medicine in February 2022. Its creation builds on the notable success of the former Wessex Institute and is the home of several high-profile government contracts, such as the NIHR Coordinating Centre and the Southampton Health Technology Assessment Centre (SHTAC), as well as other consultancy services and strategic new business.

The School of Healthcare Enterprise and Innovation, led by Professor Cheryl Metcalf (Head of School), delivers nationally important, internationally recognised work. We are pioneering excellence in healthcare enterprise and innovation, directly benefiting our economy and society through significant knowledge exchange, partnerships and quality performance.
