The environment

Lunchtime woodland walks, alfresco meetings and social gatherings: Southampton Science Park’s 75 acres offer plenty of opportunities for fresh air and exercise amid attractive landscaped green space.

27 acres of the Science Park site are designated a protected conservation area and managed by us for the benefit of our business community, guests of Chilworth Manor Hotel and the general public. This Site of Importance for Nature Conservation comprises a wide range of habitats, the result of a variety of historical uses and the underlying geological diversity.

Our environmental impact

It’s no surprise then that we are working to become a model of environmental best practice. All our premises benchmark positively for energy efficiency and environmental impact: our newer buildings use energy-efficient air source heat pumps to provide integrated heating and cooling while older ones are undergoing a comprehensive programme of refurbishment to enhance their efficiency. We are committed to generating and using renewable energy to power the needs of our building infrastructure.
