Celebrating Excellence

Science Park company Tonic Analytics has been presented with the esteemed Queen’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade. The Queen’s Awards celebrate the success of exciting and innovative businesses that are leading the way with pioneering products or services.

Presenting the award, Nigel Atkinson Esq, HM Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire, commented: “It has been my pleasure to visit Tonic Analytics here today. It is clear to me that this company’s innovative approach to high quality data analytics is making quite an impact and that the company is a shining example of the best of British business around the world. It is also good to see an Employee Ownership Trust in action whereby every team member is engaged and rewarded for his or her efforts. I look forward to hearing of Tonic Analytics future successes.”

Tonic Analytics was established in 2015 and now employs ten people at its Southampton Science Park base. Its powerful red.thread® technology is used by clients around the world to solve some of society’s big challenges. These range from saving lives on road networks and tackling crime to reducing airline delays and optimising offshore energy production. The company analyses over six billion new data points every day.

Andy Dollin, the company’s Chief Operating Officer, said: “This award represents a major milestone for us and I’m extremely proud of each and every team member for their contribution to our collective success. “After first coming to the Science Park as a start-up on the Catalyst business acceleration programme, we have seen our technology and services used by customers around the world, gained ISO accreditations and transitioned to an Employee Ownership Trust. This award recognises our achievements to date and positions us for further growth in a post- Brexit, post-pandemic world, and we look forward to extending our reach and capabilities in the years to come.”

Jane Holt, Southampton Science Park Business Development Director, attended the event along with Robin Chave, Chief Executive Officer. She commented: “We are delighted that Tonic Analytics’ success has been recognised in such a high-profile way. Both Robin and I were delighted to be invited to this official presentation ceremony; the event was a wonderful opportunity to get together to celebrate the achievements of an amazing company. I am confident that the Tonic Analytics team will go from strength to strength on the back of this accolade.”
