Expanding for growth

Critical Software has expanded its main UK office at Southampton Science Park in a move which reflects the company’s continued growth and strategic presence in Britain.

Theis move into new office space sees Critical adding another floor to its previous space in Benham Road. This has increased capacity from 40 to 60 desks and has facilitated the incorporation of larger social and leisure spaces, a new kitchen area, and a patio where staff can enjoy the lush landscapes of the Science Park and its surrounding woodland. The office takes on a space theme, alluding to the company’s long history in the industry and the fact that NASA was its first ever client when Critical launched in Portugal in 1998.

The company established a base in the UK fifteen years ago. A significant factor in Critical’s growth has been its award-winning work for the energy and utilities industry. As part of this, Critical has worked on developing and testing software as part of the UK’s smart meter implementation programme, a huge national infrastructure project that will see 53 million meters rolled out across the country. Projects in transport, defence and aerospace have continued to drive growth too, resulting in the need to expand.
