Online Applications are now welcomed for the 2024 Catalyst business accelerator programme.
Catalyst is Southampton Science Park’s primary business support programme for founders of start-ups and early stage companies.
It delivers:
- high-level one-to-one mentoring,
- best practice workshops with subject experts,
- peer group cohort learning in a small group of up to ten businesses,
- a business review panel and pitching practice.
- desk space within Southampton Science Park’s Incubation Centre,
- the opportunity to network with the Science Park community,
There is no cost to participate in Catalyst, nor is any equity stake required – quite unusually for a programme of this nature.
The requirement is enthusiastic participation for the programme’s six month duration, and to be present for face-to-face sessions with your cohort: these take place each Monday at Southampton Science Park.
Lee Llewellyn Lloyd, Founder of AddTime Ltd, was successful in his application to participate in the 2023-2024 Catalyst programme. “Catalyst has been an eye opening journey. If you feel lonely, as most start up founders do, Catalyst is a great opportunity to be challenged, learn from likeminded individuals, see different perspectives and benefit from support and tools to build your business,” he reflected.
80% of Catalyst businesses continue to trade and grow after three years, compared to the national average of just 40%.
Southampton Science Park is grateful to receive funding from the UK Government via Test Valley Borough Council through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. A central pillar of the government’s Levelling Up agenda, this Fund aims to improve pride in place and increase life chances across the UK investing in communities and places, supporting local businesses, and people and skills.
