Catalyst Welcomes New Innovators
Southampton Science Park is pleased to reveal details of the innovative early-stage companies that are joining its Catalyst business accelerator this autumn. Over the next five months, their founders will join their mentors, peers and subject experts weekly to develop their business plans into scalable, high growth potential propositions.
The Science Park’s Business Development Director, Lucinda Lamont, commented, “We are excited to reveal our 16th Catalyst cohort. These nine companies all have a goal to disrupt their respective markets with concepts that have the potential to transform customer outcomes. Sectors covered in this cohort are diverse, including medicine, education, environmental health and software, and we appreciate the variety of experience and cumulative knowledge that this brings to our weekly workshop sessions. I’m sure that I echo the Catalyst mentors when I say that I can’t wait to get started!”
The 16th Catalyst Cohort
- Droplet Scientific Xize Niu brings to Catalyst a microfluidic-based platform capable of delivering continuous and accurate blood biomarker monitoring. Primarily designed for use in critical care environments, the goal is to empower clinicians to improve patient outcomes through earlier, data-driven decisions.
- EnerV Global Sankha Chatterjee and Somjeeta Chatterjee arrive with technology that monitors environmental health and energy efficiency in real time. This will help private and public sector landlords to achieve regulatory compliance, improve energy performance, and protect tenant health and wellbeing.
- FinderAI Ashley Bishop has created an AI-powered, end-to-end sales intelligence platform that identifies emerging needs and key decision makers across public sector procurement. This actionable insight promises to unlock business development opportunities and secure contracts for companies supplying the public sector.
- Fixit Medical Robert Ward and Paul Johnson have developed a device that secures catheters more effectively, comfortably, and reliably. Not only will this ease patient discomfort, reduce complications and risk of infection, but it also works to improve clinician workloads and bring down costs.
- Hearth Insights Cameron McAllister brings to Catalyst a solution for fragmented patient data with the potential to unlock medical breakthroughs by speeding up vital research. It equips medical researchers and clinical trial organisations with aggregated health data without moving or exposing sensitive information.
- Pathzi Lucy Richmond’s concept makes career opportunity discovery quick, engaging, and data driven. Her career discovery platform will help students, career changers, education providers, employers, and recruiters to match individuals’ goals and circumstances to remove guesswork and reveal personalised pathway advice.
- PneumoRator Neil White, Harry Akerman and Mahdi Shaban come to Catalyst with an innovative respiration sensor. This low cost, wearable device is capable of monitoring an individual’s breathing rate continuously. Easy to use, it has been designed for both clinical and home environments.
- SpaceBook Chantelle Muller and Steven Noble are bringing a solution for business owners searching for spaces to work, sell, promote, store and meet. Customers will be able to interrogate and filter opportunities all around the world easily, rather than spend time navigating a fragmented online marketplace.
- Tuff Tents Daniel Maayan has designed modular outdoor shelters capable of providing effective shelter in almost any weather conditions and on any terrain, including water. This innovative, fully adaptive concept has potential for consumer use and sectors such as disaster relief and the military.
