Seeding Success in 2025
While much is made of ‘green shoots’, preparing the ground for growth is ultimately what we are all about here at Southampton Science Park.
Throughout 2025, we embarked on several initiatives underpinning this aim.
We are working at pace to deliver Infinity Labs, which will provide a prestigious, high value R&D space to house and equip more exciting innovators. While this building grows, we transformed office space in Epsilon House into laboratories, expanding options available to researchers working to commercialise their ideas.
Our objective is always to provide the optimum work environment for science and technology businesses, whatever their growth stage or sector, and we’re delighted to have welcomed a diverse range of companies to our entrepreneurial community over the last twelve months. BioFynder, Covesion, Data Revival, Droplet Scientific, Elecosoft, Global Freight Solutions, Lee Peck Media, Nuonano, Soter Software, and Synamedia all joined us this year.
We have delivered on our vision to grow the reach and impact of our Catalyst business accelerator programme for start-ups and early-stage businesses. With the support of our valued partners - Health Innovation Wessex, the National Oceanography Centre, the University of Southampton’s School of Healthcare Enterprise and Innovation and Test Valley Borough Council - we have been able to provide world class business coaching to 19 companies this year, more than ever before.
Our Board grew too, with the appointment of Mike Austin and Neil McLocklin as Non-Executive Directors. Their valuable expertise, spanning entrepreneurship and global property, will be invaluable as we deliver on our ambitious 25‑year masterplan.
One important pillar of this masterplan is our journey to net zero. Partnering with University spin-out Absolar, we have expanded the number of solar power installations across the Park this year. In 2025, these generated nearly 635,000 kWh of clean, renewable energy, (enough to make 14 million cups of tea!), while saving 123 tonnes of carbon emissions.
From sports day and summer BBQ to conservation volunteering, fitness classes, and festive celebrations, our social programme has brought people together and helped strengthened the bonds that make our community unique. Thank you to everyone who made this happen and everyone who joined in to make these events fun and memorable.
To all those who have contributed to this year’s many achievements, we wish you all a happy and peaceful festive break.
