Robin Celebrates Career Milestone
Robin Chave today celebrates 15 years in Southampton Science Park’s senior leadership team.
With a background in materials science R&D, Robin joined the Science Park from QinetiQ in 2010, initially as Operations Director, before moving into his current role as Chief Executive Officer in 2019.
During this time, he has played a leading role in the delivery of five major high quality facilities – the Innovation Centre incubation hub, an office suite at 5 Benham Road, the multi-occupancy Science Centre, the Axis Conference Centre and, most recently, a specialist Engineering Centre.
Work has recently commenced on arguably the Park’s most exciting commercial development yet: Infinity Labs, an architectural masterpiece for research and development that will attract new levels of interest and investment to the South Central region.
Marking his milestone, Robin reflects, “It has been an absolute privilege to oversee the evolution of Southampton Science Park over the last fifteen years. There’s a unique entrepreneurial spirit that exists here, and I’m very proud of the work that we do to equip our resident companies to grow without boundaries.
With unprecedented demand for high quality commercial office, R&D and collaboration space, Robin’s ongoing commitment to creating the conditions in which knowledge-intensive businesses flourish is clear.
“I firmly believe that Southampton Science Park is now central to the South’s innovation ecosystem, helping to drive the region’s impressive knowledge economy. I am looking forward to building on the momentum achieved over the past decade and a half to ensure that Southampton Science Park’s influence extends way beyond its physical boundaries through attracting more brilliant innovators and entrepreneurs to our community,” he said.
